How can I play the keyboard sound of Radiohead (Everything In Its Right Place) in Cakewalk Sonar?
Looking for a Virtual Instrument or sound in Sonar that can replicate the keyboard that is used in everything "by Radiohead in its right place." The closest sound I can find is "dark 1" (base synthesizer that can be opened in the LE size), but this just is not cutting it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Jeff
Hi Jeff -- sorry, I'm not familiar with Sonar, but for the original keyboard sound, this article may help: Have you ever heard the sound of synthesizers that immediately grabbed him by the ears and made him wonder what was it? And when you discovered, they realized it was so simple that hit himself for not meet yourself? Clear they have, and "by Radiohead Everything In Its Right Place" is one of those songs. From its mysterious Kid CD, This was the theme kick that made a lot of people wonder where the hell they were going deep on this album, of dreams. At first, "" Everything's main figure appears to be a Rhodes Electric Piano. But listen more closely, is a little too robotic and electronic surveys to be a real Rhodes (the gift of others is the lack of nuance of High Frequency spikes, but more in that later). Fortunately for us, the end of the Radiohead track nicely reveals the secret: When I open wide and adjust filter with resonance, it is clear that is an analog Polysynth. On Meeting People is Easy Radiohead DVD, you can see Johnny Greenwood in the study of allocation of a Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, so I guess that's what they used. Make the patch is deceptively easy, but I'll throw in a couple of tricks to spice up. Almost any polyphonic virtual analog synthesizer will, there is too crazy Voodoo involved. Let's use a patch with all oscillator waveforms of a pulse wave close. If you have variable pulse width control, a system that is almost as close as it will go, around 10-20%. You may have to adjust this afternoon. You want to set the oscillator eighth or two to get everything right in your area. Audio samples www.keyboardmag.com will help in adjusting the process (if not the homes). We'll use a low pass filter (24 dB if you have the option) with the cutoff frequency of almost every down. Set the keyboard up close all the way up, so the sound becomes gradually brighter as we ascend on the keyboard. And we will use an envelope generator smoothly as filter cutoff frequency, which is usually governed by the "quantity Envelope "knob. Set the filter envelope to zero attack, decay length, almost completely sustain level and release long (about five seconds). Now, gradually open the envelope amount knob until the notes have a bit of form. This is a very dark sound we want, so do not be afraid to keep it soft and upload volume, dang, I sound like a hippie! The amplitude envelope must be set to match the filter envelope closely; long and dreamy. This is where the "out deception "comes into play. If you listen to the song, the sound is very expensive and in its width. We will perform the" in your face "part with a large amount of compression. You want to use the warmest, most of the compressor in your arsenal, I used the Waves Renaissance compressor. Now we have the wide part. Go back for a moment: It could swell things by using two-oscillator patch and detune the oscillators slightly. But instead, I recommend you send the sound to a good chorus or stereo effect large bender bus section of your mixer. Why? Dual-oscillator synthesizer patches have a different tone oscillator chorus sounds just for that! It's hard to describe, but is a bit more extreme, that is what we are looking for. Experiment, see for yourself, and add this to their programming bag of tricks. I Spreader Logic effect here. You can also add a fourth late note for fun. The delay time is about 485ms, and if you are programming in your sequencer, the track is 10 / 4 the time! Very clever they are. Superfly One more trick: If you want to mix in a dash of authenticity Rhodes, you can use a second oscillator to recreate the super-Rhodes sharp noise spikes. You can use a thin pulse wave or a triangular wave, and set the interval of two octaves, nine steps and a half and 50 cents above the main oscillator (ie the same steps that 33 and a half and 50 cents). You want to adjust the mix level. You might also need to open the cutoff frequency to allow the little guy through. You can download my patches Logic ES2 more audio samples of all the madness in www.celebutantemusic / keybmag, or www.keyboardmag.com. Until we meet again, keep electric pianos in the right place!
How do I change my voice into Cakewalk SONAR LE?

No matter! You've made very clear by posting the same question three times about how you will go to jail for committing armed robbery. Enjoy your time in the Pokey!
