I was watching the public broadcasting system here in the us and published a series of concert programs from (if I remember correctly), the Royal Albert Hall, what is the name of this series of concerts?
They sound like the Proms, initiated by Sir Henry Wood in 1895. Most are held at the Royal Albert Hall, but some are not. Culminating in the Last Night of the Proms each year, held at the Royal Albert Hall and Parks (usually one in every country in the UK - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). It is transmitted live on the BBC (as the Proms are usually known as the BBC Proms) and usually takes place in September on a Saturday night. It is full of patriotic songs (Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia, Jerusalem) and the public are invited to join in recent songs are rarely changed, but they were in 2001 in response attacks on the World Trade Center (Jerusalem just kept that year)
